In West Africa, Yoruba use it for protection and purification ceremonies. Ga in Ghana mix it with cinnamon or nutmeg for healing. Baoulé in Ivory Coast wear it as amulets. Truly universal. I like to rub fresh ginger (with basil, oak, or rosemary) on athames at sunrise for consecration in Wicca. Blessed be!
